Get married in paradise

Turquoise waters, lush vegetation and golden sand make the beach an ideal choice for the special moment that is your wedding ceremony. The excellent Costa del Coco has one well-known destination that’s a favourite among many when it comes to celebrating this type of event. Playa Bávaro is the most highly valued beach thanks to everything it has to offer, with a horizon that melts into the crystal-clear waters and blue skies practically every day of the year. An unbeatable setting for an exclusive Punta Cana wedding ceremony where the murmur of the waves will be your soundtrack.

Immortalise this moment

The Dominican Republic is one of the most beautiful countries for taking wedding photos. Being able to relive your wedding day by leafing through your photographs is exciting and made possible thanks to the lush environment in this Caribbean country. You’ll take some incredible photos in the Dominican Republic, with a little something special that’ll make them anything but traditional.

If you choose to explore the capital, Santo Domingo offers very romantic spaces scattered around the city such as the Alcazar de Colón, the Ozama fortress or the Dr. Rafael M. Moscoso Botanical Garden. While touring this city, you’ll capture the feeling of the city’s local vibe in photographs that will reflect the authentic Dominican atmosphere.

For the more adventurous couples, there are numerous caves that have carved out a spot for themselves, where the sea makes an appearance, filling them with charm. Choosing a cave as a backdrop is a very original option and can make it easier for you to learn first-hand about the history and origin of the country from its underground worlds. Enjoy a visit to the 3 Eyes National Park and discover a natural paradise that was inhabited by the Tainos.

Pay attention to every last detail

Once you’ve chosen the magical place to host your wedding, it’s important that you think of all the details before you arrive in Punta Cana. Thanks to the fluid communication with the hotel’s wedding planner team, you’ll be able to enjoy a pleasant stay without any last-minute worries. When organising the trip, our recommendation is to have the celebration take place in the middle of your stay.

Punta Cana isn’t a destination with a proper wedding season per se, thanks to its excellent climate throughout the year. So, the best time for your wedding will be the dates you choose. We also recommend tying the knot before 5:00 pm, in order to take advantage of the warm light at sunset.

What documents do you need?

Before your trip, you should become familiar with the steps to follow in order to get married in the Dominican Republic.

First, you need to choose the Civil Registry Office belonging to the municipality where the wedding will take place. There you have to ask what the requirements are and indicate what day you’ll be getting married so that the civil judge can officiate the marriage. The necessary documentation is as follows:

  • Birth Certificate of the bride and groom. If this document is foreign, it must be translated, apostilled or legalised, if the document’s country of origin is not party to the Hague Apostille convention.
  • Notarised Single Status Affidavit, also duly apostilled.
  • Photocopy of valid passport.
  • Photocopy of national identity document.

All documents must be translated and certified by the Dominican Consulate prior to arrival in the Dominican Republic, except passports. The Dominican Consulate is required to certify the documents within three months, taking the wedding date as a reference. You will also have to pay the fees that apply to the Civil Registry Office.

Choose the destination in the world that you deserve to be happy.
